Chris Lute is a research engineer in power systems in the Cale Research Group where he conducts research in microgrid and minigrid power systems, power-electronics, controls, and electrical machinery.

Chris received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.S., also in Electrical Engineering, from the Colorado School of Mines, where he conducted research on novel power electronics for solar power applications. He has worked in numerous industries supporting renewable energy and microgrid power systems as a government contractor, and in the private sector working in the solar and microgrid controller industries. At Spriae, he helped to develop, test, and deploy advanced microgrid controls for San Diego Gas and Electric in California and Sigora in Haiti, among others.
