  • Cale served as organizer for the EnergyVille 2023 Symposium on Microgrids in Genk, Belgium, co-chair for the Americas Region, and presented an overview of recent microgrid activities in North America.    
  • Cale and graduate student Cláudio Lima presented their paper on “Control design for position synchronization in central converter multi-machine actuators” at the International Conference on Electrical, Computer, Communications and Mechatronics Engineering (ICECCME 2023) in Tenerife, Spain,

2019

  • Cale hosted the Fort Collins 2019 Symposium on Microgrids at Colorado State University. Participants included 140 microgrid experts from industry, academia, and government from 24 countries. The keynote address was given by the Mayor of Fort Collins, Dr. Wade Troxell. Technical presentations on microgrids in the Americas, Europe & Africa, and Asia & Oceania regions were given. Special panels were held on Microgrids for Resiliency, DC Microgrids, and Remote Applications. Attendees enjoyed tours of CSU’s Powerhouse Energy Campus, New Belgium Brewery, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and The Alliance Center. The event was sponsored by CSU’s Office for the Vice President of Research and the following industrial sponsors: Moser Energy Systems, Platte River Power Authority, RTDS, NREL, Typhoon, Spirae, Goldwind, and Vestas.
